Family Support Network provides direct services to primary victims of domestic violence and their families.
Our Mission is to strengthen individuals, couples and families through education that leads to prevention of domestic abuse, support to those in crisis, and provide rehabilitation through counseling and networking to those who desire change.
Our Vision is to reduce and ultimately eradicate domestic violence and its effects on our community.
FSN provides free services from counseling, legal and medical assistance to short term emergency shelter. FSN pays for hotel rooms for three days maximum when a woman, and in most cases her children, is rescued from an abusive situation.
As long as the scourge of domestic violence continues to be part of our daily existence in our community, the need for the services that FSN provides will continue to be great. Funding is critical to raise the funds we need to keep the doors open for those who need our services every day.
How can you help…
Volunteer Opportunities: If you are interested in being a part of the solution to ending family violence, call us to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Ask about coming to the monthly Advocate’s tea which is usually held after work on a Friday and a great opportunity to meet other volunteers and the staff.
Donate: FSN depends on grants and private contributions to provide free services in the community. Projects you can help with or contribute to:
Pantry: When women flee domestic violence, the emergency pantry provides canned food supplies to the family.
Single Mother Fund: Women who are struggling financially after leaving the abusive relationship get help with items such as rent, security deposit, utility bills, etc.
